明治期の評論家、詩人である北村透谷『楚囚之詩』を令和に生きる詩人・遠藤ヒツジが現代語にて翻案。 その翻案は『谷の底、透ケル王国』という一冊の本になっている。自らも詩作を試みる遠藤に寄って書かれたその本では、学識の側面から人物を対象化するだけではなく同じ層に還り自らの資質と照らし合わせて文章が綴られている。 本作は、その一冊にも通ずる北村透谷というひとつの思想・現象・自我に朗読を通して会いに行く試みである。その道中の不可思議な空間に散りばめられた音をアーティスト・笹谷創が拾い可聴化している。 The Meiji-era critic and poet 北村透谷's "楚囚之詩" has been reinterpreted in contemporary language by the Reiwa-era poet 遠藤ヒツジ. This reinterpretation has become a book titled "谷の底、透ケル王国" In this book, written by himself, the text is not only an objective analysis of Kitamura from an academic perspective but also a return to the same depths, reflecting on his own nature as he writes. This work is an attempt to encounter 北村透谷—an idea, a phenomenon, a self—through recitation.
