現在はスタンダップコメディアンとして活躍する Uechi Yasushi。本作は彼が llasushi 名義で活動していた時の詩を収録している。詩人としての自分と決別するひとつの表れとして本作の録音に至った。 本作では各単語が持つイメージを巧みに操ることにより、事象を変容させている。単語を紡ぎひとつの事象を捻り、伸ばし、切り、貼り付けて言葉のイメージを刷新している。 単語自体のイメージを操作するだけではなく物語の流れも引用している。表題曲である『中央分離帯のロビンソン・クルーソー』内の「金曜日を迎えることがなかったとしても」という一節では、孤島にいるロビンソン・クルーソーがフライデーを迎えるくだりと引っ掛けている。 受け手側が感じる言葉による新たなイメージは、内面を表す言い回しを彼が探し続けた結果と等しいのかもしれない。 Currently active as a stand-up comedian, Uechi Yasushi presents a collection of poetry he wrote during his time working under the name llasushi. This work represents his way of bidding farewell to his identity as a poet, culminating in its recording. In this collection, Uechi skillfully manipulates the imagery of individual words, transforming perceptions of events and ideas. He weaves words together, twisting, stretching, cutting, and reassembling them to refresh their associated images. Not only does he manipulate the imagery of words themselves, but he also draws on narrative flows. In the titular piece, Robinson Crusoe on the Median Strip, the line “Even if Friday never came” plays on the moment in Robinson Crusoe where the protagonist meets Friday, intertwining this literary reference with a broader metaphor.
